1بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ

Translations

ये लोग आपस में किस चीज़ का हाल पूछते हैं

'Amma Yatasaa-aloon

About what are they asking one another?

2عَنِ ٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

Translations

एक बड़ी ख़बर का हाल

'Anin-nabaa-il 'azeem

About the great news -

3ٱلَّذِى هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَ

Translations

जिसमें लोग एख्तेलाफ कर रहे हैं

Allazi hum feehi mukh talifoon

That over which they are in disagreement.

4كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ

Translations

देखो उन्हें अनक़रीब ही मालूम हो जाएगा

Kallaa sa y'alamoon

No! They are going to know.

5ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ

Translations

फिर इन्हें अनक़रीब ही ज़रूर मालूम हो जाएगा

Thumma kallaa sa y'alamoon

Then, no! They are going to know.

6أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِهَٰدًۭا

Translations

क्या हमने ज़मीन को बिछौना

Alam naj'alil arda mihaa da

Have We not made the earth a resting place?

7وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًۭا

Translations

और पहाड़ों को (ज़मीन) की मेख़े नहीं बनाया

Wal jibaala au taada

And the mountains as stakes?

8وَخَلَقْنَٰكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًۭا

Translations

और हमने तुम लोगों को जोड़ा जोड़ा पैदा किया

Wa khalaq naakum azwaaja

And We created you in pairs

9وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًۭا

Translations

और तुम्हारी नींद को आराम (का बाइस) क़रार दिया

Waja'alnan naumakum subata

And made your sleep [a means for] rest

10وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلَّيْلَ لِبَاسًۭا

Translations

और रात को परदा बनाया

Waja'alnal laila libasa

And made the night as clothing

11وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلنَّهَارَ مَعَاشًۭا

Translations

और हम ही ने दिन को (कसब) मआश (का वक्त) बनाया

Waja'alnan nahara ma 'aasha

And made the day for livelihood

12وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًۭا شِدَادًۭا

Translations

और तुम्हारे ऊपर सात मज़बूत (आसमान) बनाए

Wa banaina fauqakum sab 'an shi daada

And constructed above you seven strong [heavens]

13وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًۭا وَهَّاجًۭا

Translations

और हम ही ने (सूरज) को रौशन चिराग़ बनाया

Waja'alna siraajaw wah haaja

And made [therein] a burning lamp

14وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمُعْصِرَٰتِ مَآءًۭ ثَجَّاجًۭا

Translations

और हम ही ने बादलों से मूसलाधार पानी बरसाया

Wa anzalna minal m'usiraati maa-an saj-jaaja

And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water

15لِّنُخْرِجَ بِهِۦ حَبًّۭا وَنَبَاتًۭا

Translations

ताकि उसके ज़रिए से दाने और सबज़ी

Linukh rija bihee habbaw wana baata

That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation

16وَجَنَّٰتٍ أَلْفَافًا

Translations

और घने घने बाग़ पैदा करें

Wa jan naatin alfafa

And gardens of entwined growth.

17إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَٰتًۭا

Translations

बेशक फैसले का दिन मुक़र्रर है

Inna yaumal-fasli kana miqaata

Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time -

18يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًۭا

Translations

जिस दिन सूर फूँका जाएगा और तुम लोग गिरोह गिरोह हाज़िर होगे

Yauma yun fakhu fis-soori fataa toona afwaaja

The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes

19وَفُتِحَتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَٰبًۭا

Translations

और आसमान खोल दिए जाएँगे

Wa futiha tis samaa-u fakaanat abwaaba

And the heaven is opened and will become gateways

20وَسُيِّرَتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا

Translations

तो (उसमें) दरवाज़े हो जाएँगे और पहाड़ (अपनी जगह से) चलाए जाएँगे तो रेत होकर रह जाएँगे

Wa suyyi raatil jibaalu fa kaanat saraaba

And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage.

21إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًۭا

Translations

बेशक जहन्नुम घात में है

Inna jahan nama kaanat mirsaada

Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait

22لِّلطَّٰغِينَ مَـَٔابًۭا

Translations

सरकशों का (वही) ठिकाना है

Lit taa gheena ma aaba

For the transgressors, a place of return,

23لَّٰبِثِينَ فِيهَآ أَحْقَابًۭا

Translations

उसमें मुद्दतों पड़े झींकते रहेंगें

Laa bitheena feehaa ahqaaba

In which they will remain for ages [unending].

24لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْدًۭا وَلَا شَرَابًا

Translations

न वहाँ ठन्डक का मज़ा चखेंगे और न खौलते हुए पानी

Laa ya zooqoona feeha bar daw walaa sharaaba

They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink

25إِلَّا حَمِيمًۭا وَغَسَّاقًۭا

Translations

और बहती हुई पीप के सिवा कुछ पीने को मिलेगा

Illa hamee maw-wa ghas saaqa

Except scalding water and [foul] purulence -

26جَزَآءًۭ وِفَاقًا

Translations

(ये उनकी कारस्तानियों का) पूरा पूरा बदला है

Jazaa-aw wi faaqa

An appropriate recompense.

27إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًۭا

Translations

बेशक ये लोग आख़ेरत के हिसाब की उम्मीद ही न रखते थे

Innahum kaanu laa yarjoona hisaaba

Indeed, they were not expecting an account

28وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كِذَّابًۭا

Translations

और इन लोगो हमारी आयतों को बुरी तरह झुठलाया

Wa kazzabu bi aayaa tina kizzaba

And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial.

29وَكُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَٰهُ كِتَٰبًۭا

Translations

और हमने हर चीज़ को लिख कर मनज़बत कर रखा है

Wa kulla shai-in ahsai naahu kitaa ba

But all things We have enumerated in writing.

30فَذُوقُوا۟ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا

Translations

तो अब तुम मज़ा चखो हमतो तुम पर अज़ाब ही बढ़ाते जाएँगे

Fa zooqoo falan-nazee dakum ill-laa azaaba

"So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment."

31إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا

Translations

बेशक परहेज़गारों के लिए बड़ी कामयाबी है

Inna lil mutta qeena mafaaza

Indeed, for the righteous is attainment -

32حَدَآئِقَ وَأَعْنَٰبًۭا

Translations

(यानि बेहश्त के) बाग़ और अंगूर

Hadaa-iqa wa a'anaa ba

Gardens and grapevines

33وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَابًۭا

Translations

और वह औरतें जिनकी उठती हुई जवानियाँ

Wa kaawa 'iba at raaba

And full-breasted [companions] of equal age

34وَكَأْسًۭا دِهَاقًۭا

Translations

और बाहम हमजोलियाँ हैं और शराब के लबरेज़ साग़र

Wa ka'san di haaqa

And a full cup.

35لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًۭا وَلَا كِذَّٰبًۭا

Translations

और शराब के लबरेज़ साग़र वहाँ न बेहूदा बात सुनेंगे और न झूठ

Laa yasma'oona fiha lagh waw walaa kizzaba

No ill speech will they hear therein or any falsehood -

36جَزَآءًۭ مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابًۭا

Translations

(ये) तुम्हारे परवरदिगार की तरफ से काफ़ी इनाम और सिला है

Jazaa-am mir-rabbika ataa-an hisaaba

[As] reward from your Lord, [a generous] gift [made due by] account,

37رَّبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ۖ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًۭا

Translations

जो सारे आसमान और ज़मीन और जो इन दोनों के बीच में है सबका मालिक है बड़ा मेहरबान लोगों को उससे बात का पूरा न होगा

Rabbis samaa waati wal ardi wa maa baina humar rahmaani laa yam likoona minhu khi taaba

[From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech.

38يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ صَفًّۭا ۖ لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًۭا

Translations

जिस दिन जिबरील और फरिश्ते (उसके सामने) पर बाँध कर खड़े होंगे (उस दिन) उससे कोई बात न कर सकेगा मगर जिसे ख़ुदा इजाज़त दे और वह ठिकाने की बात कहे

Yauma yaqoo mur roohu wal malaa-ikatu saf-fal laa yata kalla moona illa man azina lahur rahmaanu wa qaala sawaaba

The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct.

39ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمُ ٱلْحَقُّ ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مَـَٔابًا

Translations

वह दिन बरहक़ है तो जो शख़्श चाहे अपने परवरदिगार की बारगाह में (अपना) ठिकाना बनाए

Zaalikal yaumul haqqu faman shaa-at ta khaaza ill-laa rabbihi ma-aaba

That is the True Day; so he who wills may take to his Lord a [way of] return.

40إِنَّآ أَنذَرْنَٰكُمْ عَذَابًۭا قَرِيبًۭا يَوْمَ يَنظُرُ ٱلْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ ٱلْكَافِرُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى كُنتُ تُرَٰبًۢا

Translations

हमने तुम लोगों को अनक़रीब आने वाले अज़ाब से डरा दिया जिस दिन आदमी अपने हाथों पहले से भेजे हुए (आमाल) को देखेगा और काफ़िर कहेगा काश मैं ख़ाक हो जाता

In naa anzar naakum azaaban qareebaiy-yauma yan zurul marr-u maa qaddamat yadaahu wa ya qoolul-kaafiru yaa lai tanee kuntu turaaba

Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish that I were dust!"
